Wood It Be Beautiful

The Good Samaritan Boys Ranch

Russ also donates time and items for auction to benefit the Good Samaritan Boys Ranch in Springfield, Missouri. Russ will be driving to Springfield in June 2012 to set up a woodworking shop for the boys at the ranch. He will be joined by 2 of his grandsons and 1 granddaughter who will help set up the new shop. Items that will be used to furnish the Woodworking Shop were donated by many fellow woodworkers.

The Good Samaritan Boys Ranch founded by Rev. Bob Johnson and his wife Mary is dedicated to helping boys that come from reformatories, jails, court rooms and broken homes.  There are boys of all ages at odds with the law, drifting without anyone to really care and help them.

In September of 1959 a dream began to come true for Rev. Bob Johnson and his wife Mary - in the form of a home for homeless and neglected boys.

The First Ranch House

The Ranch is located just 15 miles north of Springfield, Missouri on highway 13.

The New Dormitory
The new dormitory was completed in 1960 and was fully occupied upon completion.
More room was already needed.

The Goal or Dream for the Future
This is the vision of what the Ranch will look like when completed.
